About the Author

K K Mallender Born in 1956, I grew up watching Mighty Mouse, The Three Stooges and The Wonderful World of Disney; reading Dr Seuss and Nancy Drew, playing with Barbie dolls, twirling a Hula-Hoop and riding my bike. Each time my father got a promotion, our family was relocated. This was on average, every two and half years, which made my sister and I masters at starting over.

K K Mallender and IvanI have moved over 14 times…so far. I started to walk and talk in Indiana; discovered that I loved to read in Missouri and loved to write in Illinois. I learned to drive in Colorado; went to college in Ohio and got married in California. I became a mother in Michigan, which is where I live now. I have a marketing degree, but now work as an accountant in a local municipality in Southeastern Michigan. In my spare time I read, write stories and knit. Sounds dull, but every book I read is a new adventure and every story I write is a new challenge. Knitting keeps me from falling asleep while watching sports with my husband, son and St. Bernard. NEW is my first (of many, I hope) published novels. Writing is exciting, but I feel that the characters and the stories they tell never truly come alive until someone other than the author reads them. Thank you for bringing Ann, Marie and all the others to life.
